Protecting Your Vehicle From Road Salt

Salt is going to be on the roads during this time of year. Winter means snow in many parts of the country, and that means that local governments will put down salt in advance of any potential snow event. That is why you have to be prepared ahead of time to have your vehicle ready to avoid salt corrosion.

You should be waxing your vehicle at least every six months in order to maintain its paint coat as best as possible. You should also be sure to wash your vehicle right away after you have been on roads where salt has been laid on them.

Finally, make sure that the car wash that you do take your vehicle to is not one that uses recycled water. This is actually a more common problem than you may realize. Those who use recycled water run the risk of not saving their vehicle from road salt.
